Emirates NBD Egypt works to expand opportunity, strengthen our community and improve the quality of life of our under-banked population by strategically investing in our social commitments.

In line with Emirates NBD’s strategy to achieve sustainability through several social and economic projects aligned with the UN SDGs and Egypt vision 2030:

Social investments allow us to leverage our assets and intervene in places not well served by the private financial sector. We focus our social investments in several key areas:

Enhancing Youth Employment

Providing opportunities for youth, especially disadvantaged youth, through training, mentoring, career networks, capacity building and other efforts.

Advocating for People with Disabilities

By introducing universally accessible branches, enhancing employment opportunities for people with disabilities in our organization, and by launching wide-scale sensitivity training.

Offering Volunteering Opportunities for Staff

Through our dedicated Exchanger Programme that provides our 2,300-strong workforce with regular volunteering opportunities with leading not-for-profits.

Enhancing Women’s Empowerment

Through employment, entrepreneurship and skills development.

Improving Financial Literacy

To encourage astute financial decision making amongst our staff, clients and the general Egyptian community.

Through our Exchanger Programme, we ensure Emirates NBD Egypt employees can regularly ‘exchange’ their time for social good.

In addition to our social investments, we also have a fully-fledged staff volunteering initiative called the “Exchanger Programme.” It provides our 2,300-strong workforce with regular volunteering opportunities including one full day of volunteering leave every year.

The name of the programme is underpinned by our focus on ensuring Emirates NBD Egypt staff are empowered to ‘exchange’ their time for social good. It means we regularly support a broad range of the country’s leading not for profit organizations with examples including Resala, Misr El Kheir and Baheya Breast Cancer Hospital, in addition to a wide network of orphanages, special needs schools, hospitals and elderly centers.

Emirates NBD Egypt’s Exchangers Programme is derived from the same program launched across the Emirates NBD Group in the UAE. There, it has been recognized as the Best Employee Volunteering Programme at the Gulf Sustainability Awards 2016.
