“As a leading financial services institution dedicated to the community, this competition is in line with Emirates NBD’s ongoing commitment to supporting culture and the arts in the UAE capital,” said Saif Al Mansoori, Deputy Head, Group Marketing and Branding, Emirates NBD. “The competition was a significant success and excited tremendous response from all sections of society. The judges were also amazed at the high standard of art on display, and the participation from several mature and well known artists.”

The winners received their prizes from. Hoda Al Khamis Kanoo, the founder of the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation a non profit organization dedicated to the promotion of education, art and culture, in the presence of representatives from Emirates NBD.

“The Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation is pleased to have partnered with Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region to make this competition a success,” said Mrs. Kanoo. “We look forward to further collaboration in the future to organise more such events that will give a significant boost to art and culture in Abu Dhabi.”

The entries were judged by Mohammed Kanoo, a senior executive with the Kanoo Group, and a renowned artist in his own right. Mr. Kanoo, a self-taught artist is currently well known in the UAE art circles for his work in several categories including portraits, automobiles, abstract, applied media, landscape, photography and calligraphy.

Following the success of the competition, the winning pieces of art will be displayed at Emirates NBD’s Abu Dhabi branch in Khalifa Street for an additional month.
