Emirates NBD-Egypt Donates Ramadan boxes to more than 3700 Families in collaboration with Al-Orman charity association
The bank supports the families who are most in need offering food supplies to enable better preparation for Ramadan in Upper Egypt
Cairo, Egypt, 5th of May 2021 – In celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan, Emirates NBD-Egypt has announced its cooperation with Al-Orman charity association to distribute Ramadan Food boxes to more than 3,700 underprivileged families in Upper Egypt, thus, providing them with their basic food needs during the Holy Month.
"The bank is always keen on supporting the neediest families," said Mohamed Berro, CEO of Emirates NBD-Egypt. "Through our cooperation with Al-Orman charity association, we hope to deliver the food needs to underprivileged families so that we can all celebrate this Holy Month." Mr. Berro added.
It is worth noting that Emirates-Egypt has also participated in the "Ultra-Poor" program in cooperation with "Kheir W Baraka" NGO which aimed at supporting the neediest families that are living on less than LE 13 income per day ($0.7) and consisting of 4 or 5 individuals. In support of this initiative, the bank had provided coverage to 100 families (550 beneficiaries) through social and economic support, food and health programs, and safe housing; in addition to offering their children school education as well as providing them with basic health care.
Emirates NBD-Egypt's social responsibility supports Egypt's Vision 2030, as it primarily focuses on enabling women, youth, financial inclusion and voluntary work as its key objectives. The bank regularly takes part in initiatives and collaborations in order to fully integrate those with special needs, in addition to creating job opportunities for marginalized groups in compliance with state activities and the UN's development goals.
