Ayman Gamgoum, Head of Priority Banking and Wealth Management at Emirates NBD Egypt, said, "Winning International Finance Magazine's prestigious award is a culmination of the effort that we exerted over the past year advancing our digital banking system. The increased reliance on technology has made banking transactions an easy and pleasant experience for customers, helping them save time, effort, and money. Our latest application features many benefits that are being introduced to the Egyptian market for the first time."
Alaa El Qushairy, Head of Digital Banking at Emirates NBD Egypt, said, "Emirates NBD Egypt is dedicated to advancing its digital banking services through the latest global technology to become a leader in digital banking and enable customers to carry out all their transactions at anytime and from anywhere without going to the bank. We are very aware of technology's importance in today's banking world and are committed to meeting the field's rapid developments through our innovative banking services."
Emirates NBD Egypt's strategy greatly relies on the significant increase in the number of Internet users and smartphone holders in the Egyptian market. The bank is a leader in providing digital services that cater to customers' needs and allow them to conduct their day-to-day transactions without going to the bank branches. These services include Mobile Banking, Interactive Voice Response (IVR), and APTRA Activate, making Emirates NBD Egypt the first in the Egyptian market to offer services that make banking experience as easy as using tablets and iPads.
The bank also introduced "MePay", a distinct banking service that allows customers to transfer money using phone numbers in their contacts instead of bank account numbers through its mobile application. They can also pay more than 50 bills using Fawry, make credit card payments, instant transfers in Egyptian pounds even during weekends and holidays, issue fixed deposit certificates, checkbook requests, and exchange their reward points for cash or vouchers.
